As the Founder of the Mississippi Cannabis Patients Alliance (MCPA) Angie’s passion for her role as a medical cannabis patient advocate emerged while witnessing first-hand the life-changing benefits of medical cannabis as her son, Austin, began battling severe Lyme Disease at the age of 17. As his Lyme Disease became chronic, he suffered debilitating seizures, severe joint pain, nausea, and vomiting along with several other health issues. After a long journey of over 20 doctors and 17 prescription medications without relief, Austin made the decision at the age of 19 to move to a state with a legal and regulated medical marijuana program. Austin was able to eventually stop taking all 17 prescriptions. Today, he lives a healthy and happy life. Angie has devoted her life to sharing Austin’s story throughout the state and assuring patients in Mississippi have the medical freedom to improve their quality of life through the safe and well-regulated use of medical cannabis.
