How To Use The MSDH Medical Cannabis Program Portal

Steps For Patients, Caregivers, Legal Guardians & Practitioners

PATIENTS, CAREGIVERS, LEGAL GUARDIANS:
THERE'S NO RUSH TO REGISTER RIGHT AWAY.

You’ll need to visit a Credentialed Practitioner (we will supply a list of Credentialed Practitioners as soon as one is available) and products will not be in dispensaries until late Fall. IF YOU CHOOSE TO REGISTER, here’s important things to know:

This information will save you time and stress, while making the process much easier to navigate.

Who can register?

Resident and non-resident Patients, Caregivers, Caregiver Business Entities, and Parent/Legal Guardians of Minors (under age 18), Practitioners. Additional Documentation for Minors is required.

 

When should I register?

There’s no rush for Patients, Caregivers, or Legal Guardians. You’ll need to submit your application within 60 days of your in-person visit with the certifying practitioner.

 

Do I need to register BEFORE I see a certified Practitioner?

No. You can wait to register until after you see a certified practitioner. Practitioners began applying for their Medical Cannabis licenses on June 1st, but they cannot announce themselves until they have completed their application, CME’s and registered with the MSBML. As soon as a list of credentialed practitioners is available, we will provide it. To get the latest updates on the program, sign up for our emails.

 

Do I need documents to register with?

Have all information and documents available and ready to UPLOAD to the portal before you submit your application.

 

How long will it take to process my application?

 MS Resident Patient applications will process within 5-10 days after a completed application has been submitted. Patients will get emails as changes to the application are made.

IMPORTANT NOTE:

DO NOT SUBMIT YOUR APPLICATION UNTIL ALL INFORMATION AND DOCUMENTATION ARE COMPLETE.

Mississippi’s medical cannabis laws allow only MDOH credentialed practitioners to prescribe medical cannabis if your application is incomplete, it will be rejected.

Please DO NOT allow other companies to register you on the MSDH Medical Cannabis Portal, nor should you give them information about yourself. You will be giving them vital information which could be used for identity theft. DO NOT pay for anything ahead of time.

Program Portal

Once you’ve gathered your documents, go here. This is the registration portal. Simply fill in your information and follow the steps to:

  • Sign up for an account with the MSDH
  • Verify your email address
  • Submit information and documents

Now what? Once your credentialed Practitioner certifies you with a debilitating medical condition, he/she will submit your certification to MSDH and you’ll receive an email regarding your next step.

Patient Registry ID Card

  • Application Fee: $25.00
  • Annual Renewal Fee: $25.00
  • Designated Caregiver Card: $25.00
    +Background check fee: $37.00
  • Medicaid Registry ID Card Application Fee: $15.00
    Annual Renewal Fee: $15.00
  • Disabled Veteran or Disabled First Responder Registry Id Card
    Application Fee: Fee is Waived
  • Non-resident Card Fee: $75.00 (different information will need to be submitted to MSDH)

*DMV ISSUED ID:

Whether you drive or not, you must have a current DMV issued ID. DMV will issue a non-driving card to you. It is suggested that you make an appointment with the DMV to avoid long waits and lines. The DMV appointment can be done online or by phone.

**DIGITAL PHOTO:

This must be a clear, color photograph taken against a plain white or off-white background and taken within the last six (6) months and must reflect current appearance. Applicant must be directly facing the camera with a neutral facial expression or natural smile, with both eyes open. Applicant’s face should be unobscured (no sunglasses, hats, masks, etc.). The photograph may not be digitally enhanced, cropped, or altered in any way that changes the applicant’s appearance (i.e. no filters, no frames, no effects). Photograph should be SQUARE and properly oriented – sideways or rectangular photos will be rejected. This should not be a photograph of your driver’s license, passport, or any other previously issued ID. Photographs that do not adhere to these requirements will be rejected.”

  1. Online Apps like: www.passportphotos.com
  2. Go to Wal-Greens, CVS, Walmart, Target (not all offer this service)
  3. Use a Professional Photographer at a studio
  4. Post Office (not all offer this service) and may require an appointment
